Post The Story of Blockferno
This board is a tribute to the RTB Forums community section that was laid to rest in 28th of December 2009.

The Incident (17:30 local time)
I was not planning on creating this board, The Incident happened so quickly. I was playing Blockland as usual and decided to check RTB Forums like I do several times a day. My heart rate increased a lot when I saw that several forums were missing, more precicely Modification Discussion, Servers & Sociesties and Gallery, I though I was banned. But then I though logically, why would Ephialtes deny access to several of the forums from guests? I didn't get any messages and I was still logged in, so I could not have been banned. I decided to refresh the page, no effect. I logged out and logged in again, no effect. By that time, Ephialtes had written the Declaration of Doom that is the "Forum Clearup" topic. (Exact quote at the end of this topic, in case the topic is lost.) The instant after I read that I went to the phpBB3 site and started downloading the software. Then I wrote my message to the RTB Forums. After that, I unpacked the software and started uploading it to my server.

One hour after The Incident [18:30 local time]
The software was fully uploaded to the server, installed and theoretically ready for use. After that I installed two mods to the board. Neither one worked. My original plan was to have the board online and ready for public use two hours after The Incident. But as I later found out, it would have been easier to live on the surface of the sun, than have the board up in two hours. For the next two hours I spent setting the board configurations and three more hours setting the permissions. After I started testing board, nothing worked. The permissions were still majorly screwed up. Regardless of that I started writing the board's rules and other miscellaneous things.

16 hours after The Incident
Frustrated from the failures of yesterday, I took a day off. The rest of the day I spent playing Blockland.

1 day and 16 hours after The Incident
I decided to give the board another try. Failing miserably, so I dragged my lazy ass back to playing Blockland.

2 days and 16 hours after The Incident
I completely removed all traces of the board from my server and reinstalled it, thus removing any configurations and mods from it.

2 days and 18 hours after The Incident
For the next two hours I was setting up the permissions for the board. After that, more Blockland.

3 days and 6 hours after The Incident
Still setting up the permissions for the forum, for the next seven hours. Now. After 12 hours of staring at the permissions I am quite certain that everything is working now. Then I started working on the boards configuration. Things like word censor, captcha settings, creating forums etc.

3 days and 19 hours after The Incident
Finally. I have finished creating all the forums and configurations should be okay now. I hope. With the my lack of experience with phpBB's Admin Control Panel I wouldn't be surprised if somethings still now working as intended. Starting to write the necessary topics for the board, including this.

4 days after The Incident
The Blockferno Forums have been officially opened!

The History Behind the Name
I was in the middle of writing the Board Precedence as it hit me. The perfect name for the board. Blockferno. The development name for the board was "Final Blocktier" but that reminded me, and probably rest of you, too much of Star Trek, so I scrapped it. The idea of behind the "Final Blocktier" name was that this board was probably going to take all the stuff rejected from Blockland and RTB Forums.
With the new name, which I like much more than the development one, the idea is still the same but reflects the forum style more. The name, "Blockferno", is derived from the word "Inferno" which is a synonym for hell. There are going to be tough times for me and the Global Moderators, or "Demons" as I refer to them in the Board Precedence, managing the forums and keeping the spammers and other retards under control.

The Declaration of Doom
I combined two of Ephialtes' messages from the "Forum Clearup" topic to the quote below.
As you may have noticed, I don't have the time to moderate these forums and a lot of them were quite pointless. I have archived the Modification Discussion, Gallery and Servers & Societies forum and changed the Helpdesk and Suggestions to be relevant to RTB only. I get that you're all mad about this, but these forums were just doing the same thing as the Blockland forums and slowly you guys were behaving like the people on those forums too. It would have ended up as being an exact replica of the behaviour there. I can't pick out specific examples, nor will I name names, but I know none of you have been treating each other with the respect necessary to make a community like this function well. Reading through the posts now it is constant subtle swipes at each other that just pisses everyone off. Until people can actually show me that you can behave properly and genuinely treat each other well then I'm just going to have to restrict the posting to tight-knit subjects that I can moderate easily.
Good luck with this new community, remember that advertising it is against the rules on both these forums and the Blockland forums.
You got it lucky then. I can't log in at all. Permanently banned, for reason: "Let's see how things go around here without you."

The file cp is where you can upload your own addons. If you say you need to use RTB's utilities, he'll probably give you access again. But not to post.

Well, I can send and view PMS, view the forum, and use the utilities. Just not post. I'm sure he'll do the same for you.

No. I expressed my concerns about the future of the forums and the effects it might have on the forum. Also holy grape I need to rewrite OP a bit.
